Alder Valley Brass wins through to the National Brass Band Finals - announced 21st March 2010

A great result at the area qualifying contest at Stevenage today - Alder Valley Brass was placed third, gaining an invitation to the national finals in Harrogate in September. This also puts us at the top of the second section, to be promoted to the first section in our anniversary year 2011.

Adjudicator Simone Rebello enjoyed the "admirable" dynamic range of the band, with "stunning piano playing," "good work from soloists" and "neat percussion work throughout."

Congratulations also to first-placed East London Brass and Becontree Brass Band (2nd) - we're looking forward to seeing you again in Harrogate!
